Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Fujica Paolino, Content Creator of Simply Fujica, located in Carson, CA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I established and run Simply Fujica, which is a consulting agency. We help people seeking to open their Non-Medical Home Care Agencies obtain their licenses. We also help young professionals needing help in navigating the corporate environment. For some, the journey is very taxing, and I help people put together a plan to maximize their careers. Most people find me on my YouTube Channel.
Tell us about yourself
I worked professionally in the corporate environment for over 26 years. I just decided that I was capable of more and didn't want to work for anyone else other than myself. I had considered multiple businesses, but after needing home care for family members, I was interested in starting a Non-Medical Home Care Agency. I decided that I was going to utilize a consultant to help me through the process. When I started inquiring about the cost, I was shocked by the amount of money that people charged. I decided to use what I had and go through the process on my own. I promised God that if He helped me get licensed, then I would help others, and He did, so I do.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment has been building this business from scratch. Initially, I wondered how I would find clients, but as the saying goes, build the stadium, and people will come. Helping others start their business truly makes me happy.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I am at the point in my business where it's time to scale. Timing is everything, and right now, I am trying to adequately grow and balance staffing. It's hard to trust others with my baby, but I really can't continue doing everything by myself.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Discover Your Passion - You would be surprised how many people can tell you what they don't like about their current job and when you ask them what they are passionate about, they have no clue. Get silent, turn off social media and spend some time with yourself. Find out what you like doing and see if what you like can be turned into a business concept.
- Put together a plan - It's hard to assess and reassess the next steps without a plan. Figure out what you need to do to get started, revamp, or grow your business. Set actionable steps and assign dates for those steps.
- Promote your business - You would be surprised how many people have a business that their friends and even family members don't know anything about. Share your business with family, friends, and all social media platforms that you participate in.
