What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business has shifted and pivoted many times since it started in 2011, but throughout all of its evolutions, I have been a coach and influencer for people who are ready to up-level themselves and the lifestyle they live. The focus of the brand right now is to help other business owners optimize their lifestyle and schedule, along with their physical, mental, and energetic health.
As a business owner myself and working with thousands of others, it can be common practice to put yourself last, lack boundaries, over schedule, and reach burnout numerous times over a given year. This can create disinterest and resentment for their own creation. I give the power back to business owners! This is done through private consulting, online courses, retreats, resources/products to support them, and pre-COVID. We did large-scale events, bringing hundreds of ambitious and growth-focused individuals together for conferences.
Tell us about yourself
Back in 2008, I started working as a dental hygienist and quickly realized that it was not for me, not even six months into that career. My mental and physical health was poor at that time. I decided to plunge into the fitness industry-transforming myself, creating content on social media to help other women and fitness modeling for an international fitness magazine. This ultimately led me to start a business. As mentioned, over the years, that business model has pivoted as I have grown, evolved, and felt motivated to help people in different areas.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Having the belief in myself to create and shift anything that wasn't serving me in my business model. Many people are scared to make changes, follow their inspiration in a new direction, and evolve their brand.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Boundaries and shutting off. I get extreme gratification for what I do, and especially working from home, I could work all day. This has been a huge lesson for me over the years, which is why it's my focus to help others who struggle with this as well.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Learn marketing - these skills will carry you far in business and build trust in you and the brand you are building.
- Your health is the number 1 priority - the business cannot exist without you. You are the visionary and delegator. If you cannot show up for yourself, your team, or your customers, the business will suffer.
- Never be afraid to shift or pivot - your passion and enthusiasm for the company's mission is everything. If your inspiration and motivation are leading you down a new and evolved path, trust that and follow it.
