What's your business, and who are your customers?

The name of our business is V-Luxe; you can find us at MyVluxe.com. We help women who are struggling with common vaginal infections, specifically bacterial vaginosis, yeast infections, and UTIs. We sell our V-Luxe Probiotics, which are specially formulated to help women with their vaginal health and wellness.

Tell us about yourself

My name is Shyla; I am an entrepreneur at heart and love E-commerce and marketing. I love the idea of providing people with a high-quality product that can truly help them. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis. This is a very common vaginal infection that 30% of women get but is rarely spoken about. Since bacterial vaginosis is a bacterial infection, the only solution your doctor will give you is most likely antibiotics. Unfortunately, bacterial vaginosis comes back 50% of the time after the antibiotic treatment, and many women find themselves in a vicious cycle of recurring bacterial vaginosis infections that either never end or don't end for years.

I was extremely frustrated at that point in my life as I was unable to find a permanent solution that would work for me. Bacterial vaginosis can truly take a toll on your mental health and can make it difficult to date and have a relationship as well. As I was doing more research, I found out that probiotics can provide long-term relief from bacterial vaginosis. I started trying different probiotics, but they didn't work. I then started learning that in order for the probiotics to work well, they need to be produced in a specific way and include key ingredients such as prebiotics. I felt like the supplement market was truly missing a great probiotic for women who are struggling with common vaginal infections. That's when V-Luxe was officially born!

I am motivated by the fact that I know V-Luxe is helping thousands of women every day! I know what it's like to have bacterial vaginosis and what a difference it can make in women's lives when they are finally able to cure it! When I first started V-Luxe, I told myself that if I was only able to help even just one woman, it would be worth it. V-Luxe has now helped thousands of women, and I couldn't be happier that we are able to make a difference and help!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as the founder of V-Luxe is hearing the feedback from our customers that the V-Luxe probiotics have changed their lives and that they got their confidence back after years of struggling with bacterial vaginosis, yeast infections, and UTIs. There is no better feeling than knowing that V-Luxe is actively helping thousands of women with their healing journey, making the woman more confident, and educating women more about these common vaginal infections.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I think that the hardest thing about being a business owner is being able to solve problems quickly as they come up. No one else will do the work for you, and many times you just have to figure out what to do to keep your business going. Many times, you have to "think outside the box" and come up with solutions quickly and efficiently. It can be overwhelming at times, but you just have to keep chipping away at it and keep moving forward, step by step!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just start! Do one thing for your business every day; even if you only have 10 minutes, it will be worth it in the long run. Patience is key!
  2. Offer value and quality; don't settle for a bad, low-quality product because your customers will notice it, and a low-quality product could hurt you in the long run.
  3. Treat your customers well and respect them, be honest, and offer help/assistance to make sure they have a good experience with you. Being honest and true is everything!
