What's your business, and who are your customers?
Dance Instruction ages three years old and up. Pre-Schoolers to Adults.
Moto: "Walk In Dance Out" Our Mission is to: Provide students of all ages with the skills to enjoy music and dance for a lifetime.
It is our philosophy that one's brain is a rich work in progress, with trillions of neurons waiting to be wired. We provide rich experiences that help form brain circuits. We incorporate the development of small and large gross motor skills.
Our Goal:
It is not to just teach tap or ballet dance for the year-end recital. Our goal is to introduce many skills necessary to become an accomplished and astute learner for many years.
Tell us about yourself
I always knew I wanted to be a teacher of some kind; at age 14, I decided to ask the parents of the children I babysat for if they were interested in learning Dance. Therefore, before I knew it, I had 29 students taking classes from me in my parent's basement for 50 cents an hour.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I would have to say being in business for 63 years, having a 5,000-square-foot facility and ten faculty teachers. Over the 63 years, I have personally touched the minds of thousands of children and adults with the Love of Dance.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I would say the hardest things are keeping everyone's students, parents, and faculty Happy!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
You must have intelligence, perseverance, and a strong work habit of surviving because it takes patience to build any business.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
The advice I give every student who graduates and goes off to college: Make sure you Love what you choose to do, and you'll never work a day in your Life!
