What's your business, and who are your customers?

I work with professionals ranging from Entry-Level level to Executive-Level, who are seeking career advancement in their current roles or career changes to a new field/industry. Our services include Professional Resume Writing services, such as resume creation and/or updates, LinkedIn profile consultation, and cover letters. Our guided program also assists professionals in searching for the perfect role along their journey!

Tell us about yourself

My career began as a healthcare nurse, and I have worked in leadership roles for over 10 years. As a healthcare manager, I often interviewed potential candidates for various healthcare roles. I soon realized a lack of resources for several that included interview skills and professional resume presentation. I began assisting and coaching employees, co-workers, and friends to fine-tune their resumes to reach their career goals. I took the positive feedback and created a business opportunity to empower all professionals I come across to provide knowledge of the types of career roles available and inspire them to become fulfilled in their work environment, which leads to a balanced lifestyle.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

We pride ourselves on excellent customer service and provide a 48-turnaround time on all resume and LinkedIn updates. We have also served over 500 clients in the past 3 years since we have been in business. Several clients of The Write Way Resume have landed mid-level to executive-level career opportunities in some of the top national companies, including Starz, Amazon, Bank of America, UnitedHealth Group, and McKesson.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Business is not always predictable. It's a must to embrace change and demand based on client needs. Several clients have asked for professional writing services that I did not initially offer. I have since added a few new available services, including curriculum vitae, follow-up interview letters, and job search openings list that has generated new client interests.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Get organized and refine your business idea. Once you have a focused niche, get started right away with your business plan and structure. Small steps add up!
