Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Vania Clark-Butler, CEO of Seriously Systemized, located in Queen Creek, AZ, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business coaching business is Seriously Systemized, and my automation consultancy is Automating Success. For both, my customers are small business owners who know they need better systems and processes to run their businesses most efficiently and grow faster.
Tell us about yourself
As a former corporate COO, I understand the strategies and tactics that drive business success. Motivated by a desire to bring these tools to small business owners, I started my own business with the goal of helping entrepreneurs create sustainable and sellable enterprises that can go toe-to-toe with even the biggest corporations. Through my work, I am able to help others achieve the personal and financial freedom that comes with being a successful entrepreneur. It's a passion of mine to support small business owners in reaching their goals and realizing their full potential.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As a business coach, I have a track record of helping businesses achieve significant growth and success. Some of my notable accomplishments include assisting businesses in increasing revenue by 500% and implementing sustainable and scalable systems that have allowed them to continue growing in a healthy and sustainable way. In addition to helping business owners avoid burnout and achieve their goals, I have also helped them leverage automation technology to significantly increase their results. Many of my clients have referred to me as their "secret weapon," and my CEO and COO experience have provided me with the skills and expertise needed to help businesses thrive. One of my key goals as a coach is to help business owners create enterprises that can run efficiently and effectively even when they are not present.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I think one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is learning how to be a good leader so you can successfully lead your vision.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Focusing too hard on the details only creates more obstacles. Focusing too hard on the vision only creates more clarity. Stay focused on the vision and keep an “I don’t know” approach to the details, and you'll leave space for incredible things to happen.
- All business problems are really systems problems and are best remedied with systems solutions. This includes money problems, customer problems, employee problems, etc.
- You are not your business. As a parent, you wouldn't want your child to be able to thrive only when you're around. You would want them to thrive even when they aren't with you. The same goes for your business. Treat it like a separate entity that you want to thrive and run efficiently even when you're not there. Design a business that doesn't always need you, and you're well on your way to avoiding overwhelm, fatigue, and burnout.
