What's your business, and who are your customers?

Tell us about yourself

I am a California jeweler born in 1953. He is also an architect and an inventor. I speak five languages and have been in 80+ countries learning my craft and the traditions of wearing metals for beauty and well-being.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

In an increasingly high-tech world, keeping alive ancient high-touch crafting techniques. Cuff bracelets are meant to be worn with maximum metal-skin contact. For this to happen, they need to be adjustable and, therefore, to be made individually by hand. This is something that brittle castings or rigid machine-stamped products cannot provide.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Braving economic downturns can be tricky, but the sense of freedom of being your own boss makes up for it.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Choose something you really enjoy doing. This way, you will be able to easily continue going during trying times.
  2. Pay as you go, staying out of debt as much as you can.
  3. Stay curious, and never stop learning.
