What's your business, and who are your customers?

Season IT Right is a company that thrives on food culture. We do online & in-person classes with Cozymeal, where we teach tips & tricks of our trade.

We do catering events for guests from Private dinners of 2 to 50+. This way, we accommodate parties & personalize every request, so it always feels like your special celebration. We do wedding favors, celebration boxes of chocolates / Cookies and ship them US & Canada-wide.

In short, Season It Right is a one-stop solution for all your food events. Our concept was to cater to customers who run on a budget or no budget. Who loves food & wants to engage with food on various levels.

Tell us about yourself

I was always into the culinary world, even when I was studying for a profession in the Medical Industry. My Parents & Grandparents are passionate about flavours, ingredients, travel & culture. Calling them passionate about food is an understatement. They love culinary experiences, and I guess I inherited the culinary culture from them.

I have worked for various companies & restaurants and was putting in almost 15hrs+ a day & the monetary value of your hard work and dedication was just not cutting it. So, I decided to take a leap and GoSolo :p

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Discipline is my biggest accomplishment. I have had so much more work satisfaction, my personal achievements in terms of growing as a Chef has been very gratifying. The growth is slow, steady & smooth, and smooth is good. Though this pandemic is a big speed bumper.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

You have no working hours, I open my eyes & I'm onto shooting my next video for Instagram or preparing for an online class or an event. Sadly, people don't realize how expensive it can get to cook & present delicious food with quality ingredients. The thought, the sourcing, making, packaging, presenting, wrapping up, storing they all come with various steps underneath them & to justify the cost of operations to your clients sometimes saddens me & makes me think too much about my business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do not give up. You can doubt your methods & change them and improvise, but do not give up because, trust me, there is always a way to make things work if you want to.
  2. Associate yourself with someone or a group of people who will support you through your journey because even when you can do things alone, it always takes you a mile further when your support group is solid.
  3. Numbers don't lie, so do follow your numbers. Nothing ever is set in stone, and someone else's business model might not work for you. It's a trial & error thing, baby. Just start!

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I am learning too, and I don't always succeed, but as long as you value and learn from your failures & successes, you are good to go. That's my way to do it!
