What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is a healing chakra candle line. Seven main energy centers in your body control your emotions, personality, and physical. When these seven energy centers are opened and balanced, you can evolve into your highest self and walk in your purpose. Each candle is infused with an essential oil blend customized by me that aids in opening and balancing each specific chakra. My customers are anyone who is trying to heal and elevate mentally, physically, and spiritually.
Tell us about yourself
I am a single mother of one amazing 13-year-old son. Healing people has always been a passion of mine, and my candle line serves as a way to do so. I also love going to concerts, traveling, reading, and spending time with my loved ones. I started my business because of wanting to heal myself. I went through a deep depression and started looking for natural ways to heal myself. I have always been into chakras, but upon researching natural ways to heal, I came across essential oil therapy.
Through meditation, essential oils, and therapy, I came out of my depression. When I saw how much this assisted me in my healing journey, I wanted to share what I had learned with others, so I coupled my love for candles and healing and created my candle line. My motivation comes from doing what I am called to do. I was sent here for a purpose, and I am going to fulfill it.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is hearing people share their stories of how my products have helped heal them. Using my products allowed them to attract the things they desired and let go of those things that no longer serve them.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Patience lol. I can admit that patience is one of the things I have to work on. I want things to happen right now, but I have learned to enjoy this journey and take each moment as a lesson that grows me.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Make sure you have a strong foundation and that everything is in place before launching your business. It will save you from working against yourself.
- Make a budget for your personal life and business and stick to it.
- Make sure you are paying yourself first.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I desire for everyone to live in their purpose. To not allow for fear within themselves or the judgment of others to hinder them from doing what they are called to do and love. Remember to always put yourself first and pour into yourself. People should be getting your overflow, not your first.
