What's your business, and who are your customers?

Scrandie Beauty is a high-quality, vegan, and cruelty-free color cosmetics brand. Scrandie is for those who want premium makeup products without the premium prices. We cut out as many unnecessary costs as possible in order to bring our customers top-notch cosmetics without all the extra, unneeded things, passing the savings on to them.

Tell us about yourself

Creating things has always interested me since I was a young child, from projects during school to dance classes. It is through dance performances that I became particularly interested in makeup. In college, I pursued beauty industry business studies with the goal of having my own brand one day. What motivates me is making what I love to do my career. That way, it pays the bills without feeling like work.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

So far, creating a product that is already so many people's staple makeup item. That is how my lip plumper went viral earlier this year in an influencer's TikTok video.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

All the what-ifs. What if people don't like my products? What if my investments turn to nothing? Ignoring insecure and negative thoughts is sometimes a challenge for me.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Consider all opportunities that come your way. Think BIG; anything can happen. Be a person, not an entity. You'd be surprised how understanding customers will be when they realize it's a human being on the other end of the screen, just trying to make their business a success. Be honest, be real, be nice, and you will attract lifetime customers.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Start your side hustle; when it has legs consider working on it full-time, pour your heart and soul into it, and make your passion your career.
