What's your business, and who are your customers?
SCALE Healthcare is one of the fastest-growing healthcare management consulting firms in the US. We service healthcare CEOs, executives, management teams, physician leaders, and organizations to help them accelerate growth & elevate management performance across healthcare services. SCALE uniquely offers a full range of multidisciplinary solutions exclusively to healthcare organizations. Our clients are independent provider-owned groups across all clinical specialties and health systems, plus private equity and lender institutions.
Tell us about yourself
We have spent a lot of time with healthcare CEOs, physician leaders, and management teams who have struggled with navigating the many challenges, growth opportunities, and operational responsibilities that the business of healthcare can often present its leadership teams. This is why we initially founded SCALE Healthcare, but what truly motivates us day-to-day is our core mission to fix the overall business of healthcare in the US. Because first, addressing the issues our healthcare leaders are facing, for example, in scaling their practices, will ultimately have a positive ripple effect on the quality of patient care for all.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Making talented people happy to share in my vision and be excited to come to work.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The job requires me never to feel satisfied with our past achievements and always stay focused on what has yet to be built. It is my strongest motivator.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
First, don’t start a business that doesn’t need to exist for an obvious and urgent reason. Second, who you partner with in operations and who owns your business will be the other half that determines your success. Last, prepare to give up weekends.
