What's your business, and who are your customers?

I own a law firm with a focus on real estate law, wills & estates law, and corporate and commercial law. My customer base is primarily home buyers and sellers, first-time homebuyers, individuals looking to re-finance, small business owners looking to buy or sell assets of a business, and families looking to plan for their financial future via their wills and estates.

Tell us about yourself

My motto is "Show up to work every day as if you may not get paid." It's a testament to whether or not you love what you do, which is essential to being an entrepreneur. I opened my law practice ten years ago when I was five months pregnant and went back to work after six weeks. There are highs and lows in everything you do. However, I truly believe what can fuel you is the ability to adapt, grow and hone your craft as each day passes.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment has been to see the steady growth of my business which has been organic in nature, by taking every piece of constructive feedback and using it to achieve further growth.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things as a business owner is the sacrifice you have to make of your personal time and family time to maintain and sustain the growth of your business. I believe that those who stand by you during these times of sacrifice are your true supporters. Those that can be understanding of your life choices are the ones you want to keep in your corner.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Listen to your customers, grow organically, dream and dream big.

Never say no to an opportunity if it comes your way.
