Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sarah Recher, a Reiki Master Teacher, and Ancestral Healer, based in Los Angeles, CA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I hold the space for my clients and their lineage. My mission is to guide and support them through their own roots and rise to their full potential. My clients are people who seek their truth, that may feel disconnected from their family and surrounding, and who need to come back to their bodies and their feelings. They are open-minded and aware, and they want to be their own medicine.
Tell us about yourself
I’m originally from France and moved to Los Angeles in 2020. I’ve been practicing Reiki for five years. I started this ancestral healing journey for myself when my dad passed away a few years ago and saw how powerful and deep it is. During the pandemic, I started to share guided meditation on social media through Instagram and Facebook live and then created my podcast, which has more than 250k downloads. It started with this need to create a safe space for the community during this hard time. After that, I felt confident enough, and I created my first few online programs. Today, I teach Reiki, guide and support my clients with ancestral healing and meditation and hold wellness seminars for corporate.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I think the biggest accomplishments come with work, challenges, and being out of the comfort zone. For me, the most recent one is the expansion of my business that I have in France to Los Angeles and being able to make it work internationally in both languages. A big step for me!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things is to accept the uncertainty, find your own work-life balance, and to come back to your why (personal and professional) so you always keep in mind your values and the lifestyle you want to live.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Take the time to work on your vision (3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 3 years, and so on)
- Allow your business to grow as you evolve on a personal level.
- Be confident and network! I had the best opportunities that way.
