What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a business coach. I offer guidance, education, and resources to help people start and grow successful + fulfilling businesses without years of trial and error. My people are those that have a thing they love to do that they want to build a business from so that they can be self-employed. They are makers, service providers, curators, and experience creators. They are building their businesses from home to be location independent. They seek a comfortable life without lots of overhead or a large team. They care deeply about their customers, know there is more to life than just climbing the corporate ladder, and want to do things right in their business.

Tell us about yourself

I am 2nd time entrepreneur. My first business was an all-natural bath and body care company in which I did everything from formulating and making the products to social media to bookkeeping and branding literally. After 3 years of growing that business, I fell in love with the business side of things and the small business community, realized there was a lot missing from traditional business education, found I did not want to be spending my time making bath bombs, and faced a few problems like burnout and running out of operating cash that lead me to selling the business, and it ultimately failing. After returning to the workplace and then ultimately losing that job at the start of the pandemic, I knew that business ownership was the only life for me and that I wanted to support other small business owners because I could see they were lacking critical resources, and I love them. I started this company in the fall of 2020, helping businesses with social media and operations, which over time transitioned into me stepping fully into my purpose and coaching new business owners. I am motivated to do what I do because I genuinely am just so excited to share everything I know. I stand firmly in the belief that anyone who wants to should be able to create a successful business, and I know I am destined for more than just climbing the corporate ladder.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is a lot of little accomplishments, all moments with business owners when my words have unlocked something within them, and they have those "aha!" moments. They usually let out an audible noise and get really excited about whatever we are talking about. In those moments, I know what I am doing is important; those are the ones I am clapping and dancing about later. Being featured on Subkit is also a huge milestone for me! Thank you!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

It is also one of the most beautiful things about being a business owner, and that is UNLIMITED OPPORTUNITY. Not all opportunity leads to the outcomes we desire. We have unlimited opportunities to make decisions and take action for our business. Every decision and action counts. So in a limitless world, it can be challenging to make the "right" choice after the "right" choice or take intentional action after intentional action. We have endless opportunities to act in alignment and expand, as well as an endless opportunity to get off course and contract.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Business education and advice are meant to help you learn and expand your perspective, but at the end of the day, there is no one size fits all business, so tune into your expanded knowledge & trust yourself to make decisions that are just right for you.
  2. Get clear on where you want to go, the business and life you want to have, set a strong intention to get there, and stay grounded. Business is not to be taken lightly.
  3. You are at the center of your business. Your business's prosperity depends on your prosperity. Prioritizing your holistic wellness and putting yourself before your business is key to being the business owner your business needs.
