Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sarah Armide, a Holistic Health Counselor based in Burleigh Heads, QLD, Australia.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I serve women who want to rise through their trauma and limiting ideas of self. When we are no longer seeing life through an over-burdened nervous system, we can begin to play with the magic and potentiality we all have at the soul level. Our mind often drowns out the highly powerful version of self with the library of data of why things don't work out for us. When we start to see beyond these fearful and false ideas, we begin to see our true worth in this lifetime.
Tell us about yourself
After I finished University in Australia, I moved abroad and worked in New York City. I hustled, pushed, and lost myself... to try and become something I thought I was supposed to be. I became terribly sick with many diseases in the womb, including cervical cancer. It was clear to me something big needed to change. I left New York and lived in South-East Asia for 12 months on a spiritual quest to heal my body, detox what wasn't truly me from my mind, and let go of the emotions I carried from the traumas of my past. It wasn't long before I naturally felt the call towards coaching and supporting others. I've supported thousands to become well at the body, mind, and emotional levels of their being.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Watching women enter into my programs, group containers, and one-on-one containers and go from feeling lost, sick, depressed, and overwhelmed and coming out the other side shining with their true potential. I've enjoyed watching the women I've served come out the other side and create their own soul businesses and start serving others. That kind of feels like the point of it all for me.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The life-sucking paradigms of what we need to be in order to be successful. As a woman, I needed to work through endless belief systems around needing to work hard, hustle, and be masculine in order to succeed. Learning about effortless flow, manifestation and alignment are things that aren't taught to us... but we have to learn on our own if we want to avoid burnout central. I believe these energetic qualities are the most important things we can teach people who are starting their own businesses. Especially the women! Our bodies are not biologically designed to work, hustle or force anything.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Get a long-term mentor to walk you through this process. Ask for help. Find workers on Upwork who charge $5 an hour to create your content. Work through any limiting beliefs that you can't afford, it won't help, you can't trust them, or you aren't worthy of that level of support. A business will grow so much faster if you ask for the support you need.
