Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in web design but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Andy Perez, Founder of Santiagoparis, located in Flushing, NY, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is Santiagoparis. I am a web developer specializing in eCommerce. My customers are business owners who want to start selling online or increase their revenue.

Tell us about yourself

I graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a degree in electrical and computer systems engineering.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is the connections I’ve made along the way. I got to work with many cool people who taught me a lot about entrepreneurship. I also take pride in my work. My biggest job was improving store speed with a $10 million company, KillCrew.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

At least for me, some of the struggles I faced was getting people to trust me. In the beginning, it was really tough, but after creating successful websites, you build up your credentials and become more credible for customers.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just start. Everything is tough, but if you are still through it, it’ll be okay.
  2. Social media is a big help when looking to promote your business. Run ads and see where it takes your business.
  3. It’s okay to make mistakes; everything is a learning process. As long as you get up when you’re down, you’ll be successful.
