Transform Your Home Into a Clutter-Free Retreat - Sandy Park
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sandy Park, owner of Tidy with SPARK, located in Tustin, CA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
At Tidy with SPARK, I educate women on how to get organized in their homes and their finances by addressing the connection between money and clutter. Through digital courses and my social media presence, I share these connections with how-to video content that educates, motivates, and inspires. My audience is mostly comprised of women who struggle to consistently apply organization to their daily lives. Although they know the importance of setting up systems of organization, the daily distractions and other pressing priorities of life tend to put the organization on the back burner.

As a career accountant and CPA, I, too, found that I was drowning in my own mess of clutter. Once I had enough of the physical distractions and started to address the clutter piles, I learned about the connections between money and our things. This connection led me to help other women learn about the parallels so that they can tackle both to get more organized in their lives. Sharing this knowledge with others to help impact their life for the better is what drives me to continue in this work.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Beginning in 2021, I created a digital course that helps my students deepen their understanding of clutter and money. This course has changed the way my students think about their clutter and their personal finances, allowing them to make small changes to transform their life.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of my biggest personal challenges is getting and staying consistent. Entrepreneurship brings about many different competing priorities, and choosing which ones to address and consistently focus on them requires dedication and perseverance. But the most surprising element of being a business owner was how important mindset is to stay in the game as an entrepreneur. Building a business takes time, and the mental hurdles that I have faced along the journey are what make being an entrepreneur so challenging.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be mindful of how you spend your time and energy. Your time and energy are finite, so it's important to be discerning with how you spend it.
- Tools help you along in the journey, but the best tools are not required at every step of the journey. New entrepreneurs want to buy the best even when cash flow isn't there. You can always upgrade your tools when you reach positive cash flow.
- Always be learning, but take action on what you learned; otherwise, you lose the stickiness of the lessons. The practical application of education is where real learning occurs, so I always encourage my students to take action to learn.
