Creating a Life of Success and Abundance - Samantha Jayne
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Samantha Jayne, an award-winning spiritual coach, healer, and energy activator based in Swindon, Wiltshire, UK.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a Spiritual Coach working with business owners who are spiritually minded and want to do business in a way that feels good. Who believe in the law of attraction and having a purpose, a calling in life.
Tell us about yourself
My business has evolved over the last 22 years. I began as a Meditation Tutor and Psychic Tarot Reader. The role became more about helping and coaching people over time. So I trained and qualified as a Breakthrough Coach and an Entrepreneur Coach. Over the years, being in business myself and my work with clients has shown me that when you love what you do and are passionate about it, you are always motivated because of the sense of fulfillment you get from the work you do.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Last year I received two business awards. As a Spiritual Coach, this has been a huge achievement - to be recognised for the work I am doing.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I think one of the hardest things about being in business is to not feel you have to be available to your clients and potential clients 24/7. That you have to lose the fear of losing the business and the client and instead develop strong boundaries with them and even yourself around this subject. If you don't, you burn out!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be coachable. You must be coachable because we only know what we have learned so far in life and business, so at some point, for your business to go to a new level, you are going to need to open up to getting help from someone who can get you there. Someone who has done it. Not doing so will leave you stuck.
- Build a lifestyle, not just a business. There is no written rule that you should work from 9 am to 5 pm. So create your business so you can do what you want or need to do. For example, I work a 4-day week because I enjoy having a longer weekend with my family but also need time to myself. So block out that schedule!
- Start where you are. So many people procrastinate starting their business because they don't feel they have the perfect website, landing page, service, etc. Recognise that this is fear of failure. Start where you are and know that you, your business, and your client's need of you will evolve over time. Business is ever-changing, and the work we do changes with it.
