We offer traditional yoga in a retreat-like atmosphere overlooking our outdoor yoga deck and meditation garden, with radiant heated floors. Classes, workshops, experiences, retreats, and pieces of training online and in-person help make each person and our world a little more calm and peaceful. Our customers love to connect with themselves and each other, practice mindful movement, and master their minds and bodies.
Tell us about yourself
I am a mom of two young boys and passionate about sharing that working moms can run their own businesses, take care of themselves and their families, and serve their community. After working in the industry for seven years, I took the leap to start my own business, as I saw a need in the community and knew that my skillset could make an impact. In our eight years in business, we've grown beyond my expectations and have a team of moms in leadership positions offering their skills, from photography to marketing and community outreach to philanthropic initiatives. Through partnerships, we make it possible for classes and yoga education to reach those in need.
Moving, mindful meditation and yoga helps us focus, center, engage, get clear and move through our relationships and the world with ease. It helps us navigate change, build resilience, strength, and fortitude, and reminds us that we are enough as we are - always with room for more. It invites us to identify and eliminate obstacles so that we can be clear and authentic. Each person who has the courage to step onto a yoga mat and come to Sama motivates me.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
We've grown to win accolades such as Best Yoga Studio/Best of the entire Gold Coast 2022" and offer Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher Training online and in person.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The intricacies of running a business behind the scenes, the balance between dedication to work and family.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
