What's your business, and who are your customers?

Private Chef Sam Bodine is my business. I work for a private residence full-time, and when my schedule allows me to, I'll pick up a couple of private tastings, catering, and cooking classes on the side.

Tell us about yourself

I view food as a love language. I always felt like my food/creations are my way of spreading love around the world. My daughter is my biggest motivation. She loves to taste Daddy's food!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being able to provide a great life for my daughter.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

It's all on you at the end of the day. Everything, good or bad, falls on you.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Love what you do; when you do that, everything is much more enjoyable.
  2. You have to have the "can do" attitude; you can't be lazy in achieving your goal.
  3. Always remember to give thanks to God because without him, you wouldn't be in business. Stay focused on him and the path he lays before you.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

If you love what you do, you will make money, and that's the easiest way to make money.
