Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sabrina Rodorigo, Founder of Shanti Stones by Sabrina, located in Miami, FL, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Holistic Healing and Wellness with Sabrina LLC offers Reiki-infused gemstone mala beads and jewelry, self-care herbal and floral products, reiki, and yoga. My business is unique because trauma-informed care is at its core. Every offering is made with intention and choices. My customers are any person on a path of healing and are spiritual seekers.
Tell us about yourself
I am a social worker, yoga teacher, Reiki practitioner, and jewelry artist. I started my business in 2020, handcrafting crystal earrings and mala beads. Today, my business has grown to offer holistic care to guide your mind, body, and spirit. My personal journey with yoga has helped me reconnect to my body and discover the power of my breath. When I began studying social work, I knew I wanted to offer yoga to empower others to recover from trauma and build stronger communities. In every service offered, from jewelry to reiki and yoga, the client is at the center and has choices in everything we do together.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Stepping outside of my comfort zone and taking creative risks to bridge holistic services and social work practice together. I love that my approach to yoga, reiki, and jewelry is trauma-informed and cares for the client in every aspect.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Balancing personal and creative time. It can be easy to get into the creative flow and not make enough time for personal time, but it's absolutely necessary to fill up your own cup to avoid burnout.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
First, start today. If you are feeling drawn to starting a specific business, visualize yourself doing it. Recognize how it feels and if you are in alignment. Second, make small steps every day to work on your business AND yourself. We cannot give to others if we aren't giving to ourselves. Third, don't be afraid to take creative risks. Experiment with adding new services or products. It's important to know what you feel comfortable offering and what is an even energetic match for clients.
