What's your business, and who are your customers?
SAAKA designs and sells sports apparel accessories for sports enthusiasts and athletes ages ten and up. All of our products utilize some form of bamboo.
Tell us about yourself
I began this business after playing a soaked and sweaty game of tennis in the Florida sun. Realizing there had been no improvement or innovation in sweatbands since the seventies, I began to explore different fabrics and construction to create a more efficient method to remove sweat from the skin to keep the athlete's grip dry and vision clear.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment has been to establish a unique, successful, and popular product brand in a very competitive market.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I feel one must maintain a laser-type focus on the company's path to success. There are so many distractions that can pull one away from the tasks that must be completed.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Have and hold on to the passion you have for the product or service you are offering.
- Surround yourself with people having a good work ethic and that possess skills needed for your company's success.
- Every day, keep pressing forward. It may be the last key on the ring that opens the door.
