Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and leadership development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rupda Ji, Founder of Rupda.com, located in Mullumbimby, NSW, Australia.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Rupda.com provides a range of workshops, retreats, certificate leadership trainings, and online courses for those who want to further their personal and leadership development.

Rupda.com offers courses in Europe, Australia, America, Africa & Asia; we have customers who come from all over the globe to participate, giving each of the courses a rich international flavour of diversity.

The primary offering is the leadership-development course in what has been dubbed one of the greatest trainings of its kind, the Leadership Rupbellion.

People attending the Leadership Rupbellion Certificate Training are either curious about leading or have a strong desire to lead in some aspect of their life (professionally & personally). We have people at the beginning level of leadership and at the mid-level of leadership, as well as those experienced in the field who want to deepen their awareness and learn a new approach to leading. What attracts people to the Leadership Rupbellion Certificate Training is how we teach and learn to lead differently. The training is a heart-led approach to leading—a conscientious way of leading others (and themselves).

When they complete the CPD/CE/PD accreditation from the Tools for Life Institute, they gain more soft skills, hands-on experience, the embodiment of leadership qualities, and, most importantly, are more empowered to lead individuals, teams, organisations, and themselves.

Tell us about yourself

What motivated me to develop the Leadership Rupbellion Certificate Training initially was to train my assistants to lead a series of workshops I had created over the years for Rupda.com. However, what quickly became evident was seeing how the training would benefit all industries. Enhancing and enabling leaders (and upcoming leaders) to make a transformative impact in their work environment using a completely different approach. The work grew bigger than I could have imagined and continues to grow, affecting many businesses and entrepreneurs around the world in how they do leadership today.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is seeing the outcome, the aftermath, and the results in our customers. Seeing people on the other side of the leadership training recognising their own self-worth. Embodying their self-confidence. Acknowledging how much they have of value to offer. And realising their own empowerment, strength, and courage to lead from the heart. I have led Tony Robbins, Burce Lipton, Russel Brand, and many others, but no achievement is bigger than seeing what your customers have gained from doing the Leadership Rupbellion Certificate Training. It's priceless.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing for me (right now) is balancing work-play life because I don't see a difference. However, those closest to me do:) For me, I wake up in the morning and have the privilege of working with individuals, groups, teams, organisations, but it's not work. It's an absolute joy. Yet, I recognise those closest to me would like more one-on-one time, so growing your business and maintaining personal connections is a dance... though that's changing every day.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

The three tips that I could give someone who wants to  start, run and grow a business today would be:

  1. Follow your joy. Life is too short to do otherwise. By following your joy, you are aligning not only yourself to a quality that best serves your customers but also yourself and your loved ones--everyone benefits when you follow your joy.
  2. Look. Learn. Listen. This applies externally to your customers, your business, and internally to yourself. Looking = is bringing awareness and focus attention on things in and around your business. Learn = is about growing, always growing, both in your business and in yourself. Listen = to your customers, your business, your community, your environment, and yourself. Listening is a virtue we all gain something from.
  3. Never give up. Never give up on your dreams and aspirations. Believe in yourself. You are as worthy as the next person to be innovative and creative to start, run, and grow a business. Keep trusting that you have what it takes. Keep focusing on what you want (never focus on what you don't want). And you will see that your business will flourish because it will align with your dreams, determination, and joy.
