What's your business, and who are your customers?

Highland Consulting Group, Inc. is an executive leadership coaching and consulting company. Our customers are leaders of their teams and in their businesses and organizations.

Tell us about yourself

My first book, Lead Like It Matters...Because It Does! is what I passionately believe. Good, mediocre, and bad leaders create the work cultures billions of people face every day, anywhere in the world - in every enterprise, profit or non-profit. What we do makes a positive difference in the leader's life and business and those she/he leads - their families - their communities - and our world.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Taking the risk to go it on my own, to do the work I love, and helping to make workplaces, and therefore people's lives, far more productive and fulfilling.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Unpredictability. There is no way to know how much work will come in the door and for how long. Living and thriving within that kind of ambiguity every day is the reality of being your own boss, and it's also part of the fun!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Know yourself. Know your stuff. Know your people - including your market.
