What's your business, and who are your customers?
Round Mountain Coffee is a local coffee shop located on the west side of Conway, AR. Conway is a college town full of young life and entrepreneurial spirits.
Tell us about yourself
I have been working in coffee for 12 years now. I fell in love with coffee and the culture in my early 20s while working at Starbucks. During my travels, I dedicated myself to growing the coffee culture in my hometown of Conway.
I started RMC with a drive for community, craft, and coffee. With friends and community support, I captured my dream and hoped to continue providing some of the best coffee in Conway.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment thus far has been making coffee and creating a brand for the last six years. Having a business that lasted through some of the hardest years of the economic world and is still growing to compete with our culture is a huge accomplishment.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest part of being a business owner is balancing it all. Businesses are an ecosystem full of people. Each one of those people has become family to me, and providing for them and giving them a space they can call home is what I strive to do. This carries a lot of weight, and I wouldn't be able to carry it without the amazing people that keep me going every day.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The top 3 tips I recommend:
- Be passionate about what you want to create.
- Take the time to work on your craft.
- Never stop growing with your industry.
