What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a writer, and with most of the book's funds, I sponsor training programs for young adults in financial need. The book is for anyone looking to build success on their own terms and to bring balance to their lives while living with purpose and self-fulfillment.

Tell us about yourself

I'm originally from the Dominican Republic, and I value education a lot and believe everyone should have access to one. Education and training programs that teach usable, practical skills can break the cycle of poverty. The only way I was able to break the stats of poverty was by gaining an education and never stopping learning in a combination of building a strong mindset and spirit.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

To change one life at a time by breaking the cycle of poverty.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

To build credibility. So much noise and scams everywhere make it challenging to stand out where others could find you. As a first-time author, promoting your book and work takes time, effort, and a lot of money.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be clear about why you want to create the business. The reason needs to be strong enough to keep you going in times of difficulty.
  2. Be clear about the value your business will provide to others. Make sure whatever you do will help the lives of others in one way or another.
  3. Learn to use social media to build a community with your customers, but don't let it distract you from your main goals.
