What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a beauty supply store located in Acworth, GA but sit uniquely at the crossroads of Marietta, Kennesaw, Woodstock, and Acworth. Our customers are anyone in the community looking for beauty supplies in a welcoming environment.
Tell us about yourself
I became a small business owner because it was a need of mine that needed to be met. I was driving thirty minutes to the beauty supply store that had great customer service and didn't make me feel like I was doing something wrong. Star Studded Beauty Supply opened so that cuSTARmers could purchase their favorite items in a welcoming environment that was a VIBE. Motivation is knowing that we are preparing to make a bigger impact in the community as we grow and learn what their needs are.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The smiles on cuSTARmers faces as the shop and dance to the store's music. The goal is to let the community know that they are not customers but cuSTARmers. Star Studded Beauty Supply should be an experience for them to leave out feeling better than they arrived.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things about being a business owner is that there is no right time. Sometimes you miss opportunities because you are waiting on the "right time." I am learning that every day; every moment is the right time. GO FOR IT!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- As Nike says, JUST DO IT. You will find yourself regretting the things that you do not do for your business. Never think something is too small or big. GO AFTER IT!
- Enjoy what you do. Sometimes you'll feel like you haven't slept in days. You will miss out on some major events. Everyone will not see your vision. As long as what you are doing is your passion, you will wake up every day with a purpose.
- Keep learning. Every day find something that will help you grow. Ask questions, find a mentor, watch seminars. There is always something to learn!
