What's your business, and who are your customers?

ROI / Brand Uncover - With over 30 years of successful sales experience, ROI was created to build industry-leading revenue and growth for clean beauty and wellness brands. We build strong relationships with top buyers, retailers, hotels, and spas. Our team utilizes inspiration and innovation to help connect our beauty and wellness brands with the right potential areas of distribution.

Tell us about yourself

I had no clue that being solution-oriented and sales are driven would help me with my passion - the beauty + wellness industry. Working in a salon at 15 years old. Growing sales and revenue as a spa and beauty retail owner, opening two locations in Southern California, I worked to launch beauty brands in retailers successfully. Including Sephora, Saks, Bergdorf, Cos Bar, and Credo. Top spas such as Canyon Ranch and others. Being an early adaptor and true champion of clean beauty brands in 2000, knowing it would become a major industry trend led me to start ROI Revenue of Inspiration.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

To watch our brands grow a successful and lucrative retail business. To watch our team members support our brands and grow their business year after year. Everyone wins when our brands are successful.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

It’s always difficult when a brand is rejected for any reason. Our goal is to assist them and support them in positive fine-tuning as needed. It is not always easy, but important to remain open and flexible with change.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be FULLY passionate about what you want to get into. Feel it in your heart. Imagine yourself engulfed with every aspect of the business for years to come. If you are ok with the image, go for it!
  2. Understand your trade 120%. Study it, understand it, and research it. Know your competition extremely well - so much so that you understand they are not a competition but support for you to be your best! Push yourself.
  3. Surround yourself with people who believe in you. If you can showcase a strong business plan with a 2-4 year structured strategy for collecting revenue, you have what it takes. If not, work on this but don’t tell so many people. Only the ones who know you can do it.
