What's your business, and who are your customers?

I teach guitar and keyboards online and perform live and in the studio. I used to only teach in person, but now I have music students from all over the nation!

Tell us about yourself

I'm a Conservatory of Music graduate with endorsements from 5 different guitar companies (currently with Ibanez Guitars). People bring me different types of music each day, so I have to be fluent in all styles of music! Classical, jazz, rock, blues, country... it's all music!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is my longevity, which I attribute to a deeper musical understanding. I don't just teach guitar or piano... I teach MUSIC, so my students can make the leap to other styles that interest them.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner is dealing with the boring business side of things and being efficient with my time. Staying on top of expenses, taxes, and constant interaction with students, performing venues, etc.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
