What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is a boutique women's fitness and dance studio offering a variety of workouts plus adult tap and wedding dance choreography. My customers are mostly women ranging in age from 20's to 80's. With some men for adult tap!
Tell us about yourself
I have been on a fitness journey since the age of 16 when I decided I wanted to do pageants. Recognizing I loved helping people, I researched (back then without internet access) how to teach, so I became certified under every certification they had to offer for that time. My motivation is a passion and compassion for educating women to be the best version of themselves and not what they see others as.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Offers a warm and welcoming environment where most of my customers have become life-long friends.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
In my particular business, that would be navigating the customer/friend relationship and adhering to boundaries.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Pray on it.
- Let it be something you love and not something you think is just going to make you money.
- Take risks.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
No matter what kind of day you are having, always greet your customers with a smile and address them by their name.
