What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are unique. We empower customers' Maintenance Departments Supervision to confidently know the condition of your assets so they take control of failures and minimize unplanned downtime. Our Employee Driven Reliability (EDR) program engages our customers in providing asset condition feedback via Phone-based detailed inspections performed by their own employees.
Tell us about yourself
I have been creating these inspections for different industries since the 90s for everything from a Neutrino experiment, 1.5 miles underground to a Commercial hospital laundry dryer. It's a major change for employees to perform our detailed checks, and I enjoy watching proactive change develop over time along with the related cost savings.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
We have had a very positive change in our business strategy thanks to COVID. We now can implement our EDR program from a remote location for our customers. Even better, because EDR is all about the engagement of employees, we use them more than ever to aid us in identifying assets and walking down our inspections; COVID has been a big win for customers and us as adoption/acceptance of our inspections is even better today!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Implementing Change. People naturally do not like change. Many facilities/Plants have never implemented detailed inspections on phones/tablets, and many of these sites have been in business since the 60s. Fortunately, we have acquired formal Change Implementation training to help us with these types of implementation challenges.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Never stay stagnant- always be looking to improve and/or change your business to meet new needs.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
EDR is an excellent opportunity for new graduates to learn about how equipment functions in detail.
