What's your business, and who are your customers?
Counseling, Consulting & Coaching. RMThompson & Company was founded in 2016, and the company started out as just an idea, that became a business of helping people and organizations to become their best.
Tell us about yourself
I'm Dr. T, and I got into my business because I recognized that there was not a wide variety of places that people could go to get quality mental health services or address their small business needs.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is being able to employ and remain open during the pandemic without the assistance of the government.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing as a minority woman business owner is being able to offer affordable services, market myself, and find office space that functions for my work and clients.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Sometimes, you may not ever be 100% ready to start, so you’ll have to do it afraid.
- Even if you change the life of one customer, you’ve done amazing things.
- Take yourself seriously as a business owner.
