Personalized Coaching Style - RMR Communications Consulting
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rosemary Ravinal, Owner of RMR Communications Consulting LLC., located in Miami, FL, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Public speaking coaching, presentation skills, media training, and executive presence. Business leaders and entrepreneurs who want to elevate their public speaking impact, executive presence, and media interview skills come to me for personalized attention and measurable results.
I am recognized as America's Premier Bilingual Public Speaking Coach after decades as a corporate spokesperson and media personality in the U.S. mainstream, Hispanic, and Latin American markets. My company's services are available for individuals and teams, in-person and online, and in English and Spanish in South Florida and elsewhere.
Tell us about yourself
I am a former international media executive and broadcaster who has transitioned to my first love: public speaking. For more than three decades, I was a senior corporate communications leader and spokesperson for Fortune 100 companies in New York and South Florida.
In 2019, I left Univision Network, the leading Spanish-language media company in the United States, to establish her practice as a media readiness, presentation skills, and public speaking coach for C-suite executives in bilingual, bicultural settings.
In 2020, I adapted my coaching model for the virtual stage and created the ZoomScore™ based on ten essential elements of professional video meetings. My first book, titled The Joy of Thinking Out Loud, will be published in 2023.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is creating custom workshops to help individuals cope with live on Zoom during the pandemic. During the lockdown, video calls were a lifeline.
I created training programs to help people become more skilled and comfortable working online and advancing their careers and businesses in the process.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things is remembering who you serve, even at times when things are not going as planned. If you know who you serve and the unique benefit you deliver, then all the rest makes sense and falls into place.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Have a clear and viable product or service.
- Research and study what is available for small business growth from chambers of commerce, foundations, and government sources. Tap into those financial or in-kind resources.
- Create a circle of trusted allies, business owners included, to create a mastermind of mutual support, which includes accountability. Partner, you can call at 3 a.m.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
If you have been an employee for most of your career, self-employment feels good at first, but it is a roller coaster ride you will learn to navigate. Never boring, thrilling at times, scary in between.
