What's your business, and who are your customers?
Rise-N-Power is an empowerment community providing resources and reassurance for women to retreat, relate, and rejuvenate! Every woman needs space and grace to embrace the mindset to…“Pause the grind. Plug into God. Pamper yourself, Girl.” We remind and reassure you to do this!
Tell us about yourself
I am a mom of two little children, one with autism, and became a single mom a couple of years ago. Self-care has always been a part of my life in certain instances. However, it was magnified as a need that my mind, body, and soul screamed for in this time of transition in life. I embraced that feeling and lived into it as often as I could. It was the only natural thing I could hold on to. No apologies. This mindset helped me move from surviving to thriving. Other people, especially women, began to call out my glow. Little did they know, and little did I know, this lifestyle was contagious inside and out. It became clear to me that women around me were longing for this and the biggest key was hearing and seeing another sister reassure them that it’s ok to want this! It was even more important to share with them simple ways that helped me create these spaces and balance; as I was rising from my ashes of despair, it only made sense that I form a community of other queens needing to be reminded of the royalty that we are and the need to rise in that power. Many see that it’s just as contagious because it blesses women to go then and bless their families with the beautiful energy of overflowing love and care.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is when I have events (virtual and physical) like my Vision Board Party that move women to tears because it connects and empowers a part of them that was scared to dream out loud.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Finding a good “balance” between being a teacher and mom and honestly practicing self-care personally has been the biggest challenge.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Pray and expect answers.
- Always believe in yourself.
- When you take steps, the vision becomes clearer.
