What's your business, and who are your customers?
Total ManCare - Upscale Grooming for Guys, everything from haircuts, straight razor shaves, beard grooming, face treatments, and hand & foot care in the comfort of wide lounge chairs, TVs, and a drink. Our guests are men who are interested in the way they look and feel. Today's man wants to be well groomed. Women today want their men well groomed.
Tell us about yourself
I'm an owner of the new shop in Naples and also the Head of Franchising for the West Coast of Florida. My job, using my successful shop in Naples, is to sell licenses and expand the brand up and down the gulf coast. Previous to my involvement in Hammer & Nails, I was a CFO for a number of companies, primarily in the telecom space.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment to date with Hammer & Nails was to open my shop in Naples, the first in Florida. After over five months of operations, our membership is approaching 300 plus guests coming in daily.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
There are a lot of moving parts, in other words, a lot of detail involved in being successful. Keeping track of it all is a challenge.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- You must be passionate about what you are doing and be fully committed.
- Surround yourself with smart, experienced individuals for assistance, you can't do it alone.
- Be patient. Successful businesses are typically not built overnight.
