What's your business, and who are your customers?
Rhythm & Muse is a Kindermusik-accredited enrichment studio featuring Kindermusik classes for ages 0-7 and sensory experiences for ages up to 12. Using music, movement, art & sustainability to give a holistic take on your child’s developmentally appropriate early education.
Tell us about yourself
I started my business because there simply wasn’t anything enriching for my child under 2 to be enrolled in that was nearby. As a new mom, my social meter was running low. You struggle to find time to meet others while feeling like you’re doing a good thing for your child. Becoming part of the Rhythm & Muse community bridges the gap.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment has yet to come. We are still in the first year, and I have some big goals we are still working towards. At the moment, I would say it’s just getting started at all! It was a huge change for my career, but it has opened up so much more time for me to be involved with my own family and my local community.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Balance. I also watch my toddler full-time, so it’s always a little busy around me. But I can happily say I am more balanced than ever before.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Do your market research.
- Be prepared to be your own advocate for everything.
