Best of Science and Tradition - Resilience Experts
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Dr. Eva Selhub, MD., Founder of Resilience Experts, LLC., located in Waltham, MA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
The name of my business is Resilience Experets, LLC. My customers may be organizations or individuals who need executive coaching, consulting, and/or programs to improve leadership and performance and treat burnout.
Tell us about yourself
I started out as a Medical Director and soon realized that people could not get healthier and happier without support from the culture they are part of. I chose to shift out of the medical system and work instead with companies, organizations, and key individuals who are in leadership positions who can influence culture and other people to shift the way we approach life, work, relationships, communication, and well-being. I love what I GET to do every day. I coach, consult, write or speak and whichever way I get to work, I know that I am shifting minds and helping people live happier lives.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment has to do with getting my name out there through content--whether it is the six published books I have written, multiple blogs, videos on IFIT, etc. It is a great accomplishment to be "seen" and have the opportunity to be able to influence and health tens of thousands of people.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The hardest thing really is always needing to hustle in one form or another when you own your own business. One always has to think about new streams of revenue, so there is no rest for the weary. It is also challenging to have to think about social media when I want to focus on doing the work.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Figure out your why. Know your core values and why you are doing something--It could be about making money, but that won't sustain you. Find something you are passionate about, make it your why, and use this why/value as your compass. This will help you establish your brand.
- Create a network of support. Talk to people, get advice, and network. These people will help you evolve, learn, grow, and ultimately thrive.
- Create a larger vision of what you want (make a vision board if you like), and then break it up into smaller goals that you can more easily attain. Create a strategy/plan and bite off one thing at a time.
