What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am the owner of Reinventing You, a company dedicated to helping men and women professionals in middle age recover from a career disruption and disappointment. Whether a loss of interest and passion for their work or an unexpected job change, those impacted become disenfranchised and are left asking, "What do I do now with my life and career?". Clients who work with me reclaim the work they love and the purpose in life that inspires them.
Tell us about yourself
I started my business based on the lessons learned on my journey of reinvention following a distinguished career of more than 30 years as a Human Resources executive. My job was eliminated in 2021 when the industry shut down due to the pandemic. I am motivated by the ability to help individuals with career challenges and businesses with HR challenges. So many are struggling, and my experience in HR as a coach and consultant has put me in a position to serve others in the process of personal and organizational transformation and reinvention.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Networking and meeting so many fellow entrepreneurs. This has opened doors to podcast appearances and potential business collaborations and affiliate relationships.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Doing so many things that are required to start and run a business right, tasks that are very challenging when you work solo and can't yet afford even a virtual staff.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
First, you must be very clear on the problem you are solving. Second, you must be clear about the market you are serving. Third, you must differentiate yourself in who you are and what you offer to your target market.
