What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm in the business of beauty! I offer services for lashes, makeup, and brows, specializing in CBD skincare. My clients are anyone and everyone who wants to experience beauty in their lives and connect on a deeper level with their personal style.

Tell us about yourself

I've been an entrepreneur since 2015. It all started because I couldn't find the right place to work and realized I would have to create it myself. I'm currently expanding Reign Rituals into a full beauty school called Reign Beauty Academy. At the academy, students will learn all the ins and outs of their preferred beauty modality and career wellness, and community building. I'm also classically trained in fine arts (oil painting, to be precise), and I love incorporating my artistic training in all of my beauty services and education. Transforming the beauty industry into a more sustainable and inclusive space is my main goal and definitely motivates me to show up and do my best every day.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Getting my business through the pandemic. It was the most insane and stressful time I've ever experienced in business, and I quite literally feel like a different, more capable person because of it.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Work/life balance. There's a saying that most entrepreneurs would rather work 80 hours a week for themselves than 40 for someone else, which is true and also very unhealthy. It's hard to know when to turn off work mode.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Have a sense of humor (and business plan,) learn to adapt to change, and prepare to face parts of yourself you never knew existed.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Don't forget to rest and take care of yourself. You're a person, not a machine.
