Empowering Women Thru Wellness Coaching - Reichert Wellness

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Meg Reichert, Founder of Reichert Wellness, located in Colorado Springs, CO, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Reichert Wellness is a women's wellness coaching service providing support and guidance using an anti-diet and Health at Every Size™ approach. We place value on women's intrinsic knowledge about their own bodies, reminding them that they are the expert and the ones who can achieve their goals on their terms. We provide personalized coaching, personalized meal planning, education, movement planning, cooking guides, and demonstrations. All around the client's personal and specific needs and goals.

Tell us about yourself

So I used to be a mental health therapist but wasn't excited about being the last stop before individuals sought medication - not that there is anything wrong with medicine (I love my anti-depressant and anti-anxiety meds!). But I wanted to help individuals to turn inward and help them discover how to heal and what to do to make their dreams come true. In 2018, I opened Reichert Wellness (Sage and Thyme Wellness at the time) and had been coaching ever since! I'm motivated by the success and wins that my clients experience. There is power when women are reminded of their body's cues when it needs support, movement, or sustenance when we remember that we are the ones who can control our outcomes - not external sources.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

So far, it has been sustaining and growing a business during a pandemic. I went from part-time/hobbyist to full-time coaching this year.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

So I'm an active duty military spouse. This means that my family moves every 2-3 years. Creating a community and business resources at each new destination is really difficult.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have courage in the knowledge you have.
  2. Put your faith in yourself. If you THINK it's a good idea, then it's worth trying.
  3. Put blinders on. Don't look to the left or the right. Getting stuck in someone else's idea of success or progress will hold you back.
