Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Victoria Radzinski, Owner of Reed Wellness, located in Hoboken, NJ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Reed Wellness is a Wellness Studio for everyone from the teenage and professional athlete to the serious weekend warrior, from the working professional to our golden generation.

Tell us about yourself

I am the founder of Reed Wellness, a licensed massage therapist and Manual Lymphatic Drainage practitioner in Hoboken, NJ, and have been in practice since 2008. I love living a healthy life and always choose to keep active with balanced activities. I do my best to always learn and grow our practice with continuing education courses, working with teachers, other Massage Therapists, coaches, trainers, and other health providers. Creating a space for people to decompress and treat themselves to self-care is what motivates me.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I've been working as an LMT in Hoboken since we opened back from the shutdown in March 2020. As soon as we were allowed to go back to work in June 2020, I hit the ground running. People who were able to work from home were stressed out! I was so busy with customers subleasing 2 spaces in Hoboken, putting in almost 40 hours a week. I saved every penny and, in December 2021, was able to open up my own wellness space, consisting of a waiting room and 3 treatment rooms. Now I have been building a variety of wellness practitioners to serve our customers best.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Because I have been hands-on in the field for 15 years, it is a practice to detach from hands-on work and hone the role of being a BOSS.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

If you are looking to start a business, start now, don't wait. Being in business for yourself is an evolutionary journey. If you are a problem solver and love what can provide a living, go for it. Do not let fear get in the way because as long as you are on your A game, on top of tasks, and what needs to get done, you will succeed. I am a believer in 'what you put in is what you will get out.' Network! Put yourself out there, do events, meet other successful business owners, and don't be afraid to ask questions. And be smart with your money. Try to work with what you have and grow organically. The money will follow if you provide a service or product that sells itself. Get reviews, and don't be shy to Promote yourself. Find like-minded people to work for you and give them opportunities to grow within your company.
