Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rachel Angerman, Founder of Recovery Allies, located in Seattle, WA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Recovery Allies supports families going through mental health and addiction crises through a variety of services, including intervention, sober companioning, safe passage, mentoring, and treatment planning and consulting.
Tell us about yourself
As someone who has struggled with substance use disorder in the past and experienced firsthand the pain it caused not just myself but my family, I am very motivated to help other families find healing and come back together. Intervention saved my life, and I am honored to be able to play a small role in saving the lives of others struggling.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Each family that heals, each individual that recovers!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I would say the hardest part about owning a business is the responsibility you take on for other people's livelihood.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Reputation is everything. Don’t do it alone; build a team you can trust and rely on. You will never regret doing the ethical thing!
