Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Dr. Paige Hubert, Founder of Recharged Performance Therapy, LLC, located in Palm Bay, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy company that specializes in empowering women to solve physical issues like pain, pee leakage, difficulty with intercourse, and pregnancy/postpartum recovery.

Tell us about yourself

I am a driven individual who doesn't do well with being told: "because I said so." This issue ultimately led me to the understanding that I was not built to work for other people. I am motivated by the ability to continue to create a life that I am proud of and opportunities for others to improve their lives through working for this company and being clients with it. I was told to start this company through leadership training with my church and a well-timed intervention with my God. He helped me to see that my talents and drive would be better utilized to help more than just me with my own company. After that encounter (and a conversation with my spouse), I started getting this company off the ground.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is the team that I have created. The two women who work hand in hand with me and the more contract workers are being provided opportunities that aren't available to working mothers outside of this company. The goal is that I create a space where they can be themselves, thrive in the workplace, and have the home life that they dream of.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner is the decision and leadership fatigue. You are ultimately the one that is driving the ship and keeping everyone on board. It comes with a lot of little decisions and continued learning to be the best leader you can be.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just do it. And start TODAY. The longer you wait- the less influence you have and the more you are just "waiting for a sign" instead of being Courageous.
  2. Make 1-month, 6-month, 1-year, 5-year, and 10-year goals. Then be okay with them changing and taking more/less time than you originally thought.
  3. Get Business Coaching. It pays DIVIDENDS compared to you trying to figure it all out yourself. But do your research on who is coaching you. Make sure they align with your values and ideals. If they don't, or they seem like a partial fit, they aren't the coaches for you.
