Recipes for Life™ - Recetas Para la Vida
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Becky Krinsky, Founder and Owner of Recetas Para la Vida, located in Chula Vista, CA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is helping people find peace and harmony and straighten their lives so that they can learn to make better choices and achieve a better quality of life. I do this through personal coaching, international conferences, webinars, winning author of inspirational books, and my blog, www.recetasparalavida.com, which has been live since 2005.
My clients can be any person having questions or desires to grow and heal a past, feeling anxious, depressed, or lost. As well as people who would like to start a new business or are struggling with their relationships. I have a bilingual and bicultural practice. I speak Spanish, my mother tongue, and English, of course. I also offer non-branded content and write inspirational and wellness articles for different magazines, companies, and mental health organizations. My business is global, and I have clients from around the world.
Tell us about yourself
I studied the science of education, and since then, I have fallen in love with the art of becoming a better person. I have taken multiple courses on human development, parenting, spirituality, mindfulness, yoga, psychoanalysis techniques, human passions, and fears. I make sure to reset my ideas frequently, and I have become my own best guinea pig. Everything I write and teach is based on real experiences, and I am blessed because my life has changed dramatically for the better. I feel I am a better woman, a nicer mother, and a stronger community advocate because of the daily work I do. I believe that what motivates me the most is when I see a client feeling accomplished, with a clear mind, and taking responsibility for their choices. I love my work, and I am committed to helping anyone that has the willingness to work to become the best version of oneself.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As a business owner, my biggest accomplishment to date has been being blessed with a full practice daily. Winning first place with the Latin book award for my self-published book, "How To Deal With Difficult People" (Como tratar con gente difícil). But I felt a great sensation the day I saw some beautiful cards made out of my recipes for life. My creation and my inspiration that day was a WOW moment in my life. It took two years to find the right presentation and the vision of a great businesswoman, Dominique Sherman, the CEO of Papyrus and American greeting cards. That day I felt proud, excited, and full of energy to keep on dreaming big.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
As a self-employed, it's very hard to push and stay focused when you don't see results. It's challenging when things don't turn out to be as planned or when I need support and funding for new projects, and I can't find ears to listen and people to help me.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Believe in yourself and love the project you are about to initiate.
- Have patience and be prepared to face challenges without giving up.
- Enjoy the ride.
