What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is Rebuilders International, LLC, and we work with people dealing with divorce.

Tell us about yourself

I divorced for the second time in January 2018. It was devastating, and for eight months, I suffered tremendously. I was very sad, angry, confused, and unable to move forward. I found a local program that was able to quickly help me Let Go and Move On with my life. From that point, I decided that I wanted to help others, not just locally but internationally, get the tools and information that I was lucky enough to get.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

In the last five years, I have become a certified coach, co-authored a book, created a number of divorce recovery programs, and helped thousands of people to heal from the trauma of divorce.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

In my business and role, I have to be both logical and emotional. The people we are working with are often in the most difficult period of their life, so I have to be very sensitive to all of the issues they are dealing with. At the same time, I'm running a business. So navigating the fact that I want to help everyone and that I need to have a business that is successful in continuing is an ongoing challenge.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

First, never give up. Running your own business is a challenge to yourself. Constantly pushing yourself is the goal.

Second, when you understand your WHY, everything else gets easier. When you are passionate about what you do, it isn't a business. It is who you are.

Third, being profitable matters more early on than later. So, finding something that is profitable early makes everything else so much easier.
