Committed to Breakthrough - Real Estate Grad School

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rich Levin, Founder of Real Estate Grad School, located in Ramat Beit Shemesh Aleph, Beit Shemesh, Israel.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is coaching already successful residential real estate Agents to significantly increase their income while the increase their quality of life and service to their buyers and sellers.

Tell us about yourself

After early careers as a Tennis Professional and 1st Grade school teacher, I began selling real estate. Success came to me quickly. I bought a brokerage and gained a strong reputation for training and coaching that turned into a national presence. I realized that I loved to be the catalyst for people's growth. In tennis, the classroom, and even my style of selling, was one of educating the buyers and sellers to make the best decisions.

My very first one-on-one coaching client (Real Estate Agent) doubled his income in 12 months. As that kept happening, in addition to improving my ability at it, I realized that I loved their success. My wife says, "Rich, you get more excited about a client making money than about us making money." It's true. It seems that I have a great teacher or coach motivation more than that a salesperson or Broker.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Providing personal and financial freedom for my clients. I've since moved to Israel and continue to coach Agents in the US and Canada to live lives they love as I live the life I love.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Finding peace of mind, which includes time management, managing the books, delighting the clients, marketing, lead follow-up, and more. It's not those things that are hard. It's systematically managing them in ways that open the possibility of personal freedom and peace of mind.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Choose your first-year goals in sales, income, number of clients, customers, or sales, and whatever the process measures of your business are that create those three basics.
  2. Choose to do things with care and quality. As you hire people and/or delegate, be sure to communicate your standards of care and quality as well as the measures of each particular role.
  3. Supervise to ensure that your standards are maintained or exceeded. You get what you inspect, not what you expect.
