Recycling Textile Waste - Re-Fresh.Global

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Viktoria Kanar, Co-Founder and CEO of Re-Fresh.Global, located in Berlin, Germany.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Re-Fresh.global, is an eco-business that recently developed a groundbreaking technology to turn textile waste into new materials and products to be re-used in various industries, from design to automobile and much more. Some of those renewed raw materials are as surprising as a real perfume fragrance made from textile waste.

The customers are any manufacturing company that is eager to comply with the EU's EPR Regulations for circular manufacturing processes; they can use Re-Fresh.global's product to deal with their refuse or use the new recycled materials for their production.

Tell us about yourself

I am Viktoria Kanar, the CEO and Co-Founder of Re-Fresh Global. As a fashion tech producer and entrepreneur, I bring together key experts and innovators from around the world to develop new and circular initiatives that will have a long-term impact on how we manufacture, purchase, sell, and recycle textiles. My international experience has evolved through the creation of GeekChicTLV, an agency that specializes in innovative fashion and tech productions in Israel and abroad. In previous years, I had the pleasure of working around the world with companies such as LVMH, Tel Aviv Municipality, Gindi Investments, Tel Aviv Fashion Week, The Strauss Group, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Israel, and many more.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Stepping into entrepreneurship was a thrilling experience for me. My desire to help those in need and improve the world has always been a part of my inner spirit. However, I also enjoyed being a part of the alluring fashion and design industry. It took some time for me to fully grasp the damaging impact this industry has on our planet. Together with my co-founder, fashion designer Revital Nadiv, I decided to shift perspectives and establish Re-Fresh.Global. For me, it was a two-fold process: acknowledging the problem and developing a sustainable solution that addresses this pressing issue while maintaining the core values and essence of the industry.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

As the founder of this company, I understand that I am the embodiment of its responsibility and that this extends to every aspect of my life, 24/7. My deep passion for this industry and commitment to creating a sustainable future, free of a "dirty backstage," drives me to continuously work towards making a positive impact and leaving a better planet for future generations.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

If I were to give advice to a business founder, it would be to not settle for just one source of wisdom. Rather, seek out as many successful individuals as you can, and listen intently to the lessons they have learned. This can prove to be extremely valuable, as there are always valuable insights to be gained from those who have already traveled the road you are on. Although there is no such thing as a free meal in the business world, there are many individuals with inspiring stories who can provide you with valuable guidance. Take advantage of the opportunity to learn from their experiences.
