What's your business, and who are your customers?

Rathcore Solutions is a digital solutions company. We provide high-end websites, marketing, branding, and other digital IT services for small to medium businesses.

Tell us about yourself

There is a right way to do things, and that's an interesting and intriguing concept in the cosmos that is Web-Solutions and Marketing. I love the creative and fine-tuning process of cultivating and harvesting a good business model.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Our company helped build, manage, and market nearly half-a-billion dollars in revenue for our clients 100% by referral. We are an advertising firm that has never advertised ourselves.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I suppose this would be different for all business owners, but for me, there is pressure to deliver at an extremely high level of excellence. Our reputation and our business model live in excellence, maybe comparable to a Michelin-star chef/restaurant, something we want to hold onto desperately.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just go for it. Start slow, start it now, skip Netflix and work on it in your spare time. Bootstrap it if you have to, and learn as much as you can.
  2. Don't get entrepreneur-itis and produce the thing you are best at and ask for help in areas that require experts. It's unreasonable at a certain point to be the engineer, CPA, Marketing Guru, web developer, lawyer, HR, etc., all at the same time.
  3. Set clear goals, write them down, create a business model and understand it will change over time. A business is a journey. It will have ups and downs and passion and frustration. Having a solid business model can act as a boon during that journey.
