Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Wayne Vo, founder of Rainy Town Media, located in Vancouver, BC, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
We do web design, web development, app development, and custom software. We specialize in eCommerce platforms ranging from Shopify and Magento to Woocommerce and Drupal Commerce. Our clients range from local small businesses in the Vancouver area to industry-leading firms.
Tell us about yourself
I started off working at a local web development company and was not happy with how it was running. There was a priority on having a nice-looking office and not on the service for the customer. I was motivated to create something better and leaner, and more efficient than the normal agency model. Our one and only focus are to create the best product for the customer at insanely competitive prices.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Been able to work with many great clients and keep the same level of consistency from day one as now.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Juggling many things at a time. As a small business, you are there to fix it.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Don't overthink things. Sometimes you just have to go, do and learn from your mistake.
