Tell us about yourself

I am a lawyer that turned entrepreneur 15 years ago. My journey is now directed to create an impact. Since 2007, I have traveled the world to meet entrepreneurs, scholars & academics, and investors in my quest to better understand the art of value creation, especially in this era of digital revolution dominated by the emergence of artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, and data science and IoT.

For the last 36 months, I co-developed a new business model, with rainMKRS, in support of the development of GCC economies and worked towards building an ecosystem for food security in the UAE, energy efficiencies for real estate (in Canada, Europe, and GCC), private investment office (Europe and GCC).

As a result of my long-standing commitment to enhancing women in leadership roles, I was appointed as a Partner into the Denim Club, a He for She peer-group supporting G100, Mission Million (Group of 100 women leaders), for the Agtech Cluster (www.g100.in).

I am also an EO alumnus. I support entrepreneurship and arts through personal involvement and donations.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I brought together a group of colleagues to create this impact and convinced a group of relevant corporations to support our projects. This network of partners is the biggest asset of my journey and one that we are nurturing every day to ensure value creation.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Remain focused on the objective and mission of the company while remaining true to yourself. Building a business is very challenging. It requires lots of knowledge, soft skills, and patience.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Believe in yourself.
  2. Be in the traffic.
  3. Be flexible but never abandon!

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I would add to be kind to people, clients, and staff and to be a giver.
These are guides in the highs and lows of the business.
